Once again, the fine folks at The Modern Leisure are throwing a shindig – Factory Party #6. This raucous good time will be held on June 24th at the Uptown. Currently, they are holding an open call for art submissions (with priority being given to installation and/or performance works). The details are below:

OPEN CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Submission Guidelines: Factory Party is a multi-disciplinary art showcase which seeks avant-garde work from emerging artists from within Calgary and Alberta. We encourage all mediums to be submitted, with a focus on interactive and performance pieces (to fit with the audience driven party) as well as two dimensional and three dimensional art objects (for the walls) and video (for the theaters). Essentially, there are no limits and we encourage fun-loving and forward-thinking submissions.
To be considered, you MUST FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES BELOW and have submitted your art to fp6submissions@themodernleisure.com by or before Midnight on Wednesday, June 10th 200. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered. Only those selected will be notified by Monday, June 15th.
GUIDELINES:
1) Submit up to five images of work, these images MUST be accompanied with a Title, Size, and Medium. Any additional concerns are also encouraged (installation requirements etc.). Please specify If you are submitting a series and further images may be requested. Tangible works without images will not be considered.2) Work that would be created (performance, interactive, installation, conceptual) at the party can be described in as much detail as possible. Please include requirements such as space, type of crowd, conditions such as lighting etc. (if known). Support materials such as prop or set images or video are recommended.
3) Files must be .JPEGS and the total attachment size cannot exceed 5MB.
4) The artworks submitted MUST be the works you intend to show. If selected, the artist must arrive at The Uptown with the works submitted, no more, no less on the date specified.
5) Video submissions may only be made in screening quality .AVI or .MOV files. Any other file types will not be considered. It is recommended that files are sent via YOUSENDIT.COM to the submissions email. The service is free and is designed to handle large files. NOTE that yousendit is only for video submissions.
