Canadian Artists for the Poor

It’s not everyday that I find an organization that truly has the ability to change lives while I’m researching local art news, however, that’s exactly what I found when I stumbled upon Canadian Artists for the Poor.

Canadian Artists for the Poor is a not-for-profit organization that started just this year that revolves around working with local artists to help the fight against poverty.

From the Canadian Artists for the Poor website:

Canadian Artists for the Poor is an innovative way to help those living in extreme poverty. Canadian artists – painters, sculptors, and photographers donate an item of their works, we put on the event inviting the public to meet the local artists and bid on their art pieces.

It’s a great concept that benefits everyone involved – the artists get exposure, the public get to enjoy an afternoon filled with beautiful art and the chance to take home wonderful (often-times original) art, while proceeds go to partnered non-profit organizations working on the ground level with people living in poor conditions.

As a new not-for-profit organization, they are currently in need of sponsors, both individuals and businesses, to help fund the costs of hosting these events.

How else can you help? Attending one of their events is a great way to show your support.

The next event held by Canadian Artists for the Poor is a silent auction. This is a fantastic opportunity for art novices, art students, and connoisseurs alike to bid on beautiful Canadian art and the best part is that many of the artists who have donated their works will be on-hand to meet visitors. Come out, enjoy some art, support your local artists, and support a great organization with a noble cause.

With over fifty pieces of art available at all price levels there’s sure to be something for everyone.
