R. Duane Hendricks
Paint en plain air in Calgary with artist and instructor R. Duane Hendricks on June 27th, July 25th, and August 22nd, 2009 from 9:00 am to noon.
Each session will begin with a half hour lesson followed by 2 hours sketching/painting time, and finishing with a show-and-discuss session at 11:30.
Any medium is welcome (sketching or painting).
Each day will have a location/subject focus (back alley, garden/flower, streetscape). These will be helpful hints for working outdoors, such as how to zero-in and isolate/compose your focal point, how to simplify, light and shadow, colour, harmony, etc.
Pack light. Possible supplies include chair, easel, hat, umbrella, comfortable clothing, snack, water, and art supplies for your chosen medium.
Meet at the House Coffee Sanctuary 126 10 Street NW, they open at 9:00 a.m. (and they are near Kensington Art Supply). Our sketching/painting location will be within walking distance.
The cost is $20 per session. Register (for one or more sessions).
