This year, the Calgary Sketch Club is celebrating a pretty significant milestone – their 100th birthday! To commemorate this fantastic achievement, they are hosting a celebration and exhibition from July 11th through August 29th, 2009 at the Leighton Centre.
The exhibition will feature 50 to 60 paintings by members of the Calgary Sketch Club, including a strong contigent of works by past members including: A. C. Leighton, Barbara Shelton, and G. O. Jones, as well as other prominent Alberta artists. Also, memorabilia from both the Leighton Centre and the Calgary Sketch Club will also be on display.
This exhibition is open to the public.
